Mariage Frères

IMGP3371.JPGWhen we wanted to buy our English friends some special tea, we knew exactly where to shop:  Mariage Frères.  It is hard to believe that the French would know how to satisfy our friends, who are experts in the art of tea, but Mariage Frères has some of the fines teas in the world.  Each of its stores is in a lush setting too, with dark brown wood, amber lights, and row upon row of fine teas to buy.

Mariage Frères also sells beautiful tea pots — some modern and some more of traditional design.  You can also buy sweets, and some stores, including the one in the Marais, has a gorgeous tea room where you can sit down for tea, a dessert, or even lunch.  The boxes of tea are smartly designed, and are a perfect gift for friends, especially when you are invited to dinner.

Mariage Frères has been serving the most discerning customers since 1854, so you can be guaranteed that what you buy is of the highest quality.  Mariage Frères has several locations throughout the city, including the Marais (below), and the posh Madeleine district right next to Hediard.
