A store front with many items on display.

Lin & Cie

While taking a stroll not far from Jardin du Luxembourg, I discovered a charming boutique selling linens, clothes, toys, home furnishings, pretty jewelry, and more. Everything is displayed in good taste: the décor, the logo, the inventory, all like a presentation, even the gift sets! This is a paradise for mothers, children, infants, or if one wants to find an original gift for a friend; and don’t forget to pick up a little something for yourself too!

Most everything is made in France: les gigoteuses (baby buntings) , toiletry bags, linen sacks, and French ribbon. The adorable stuffed animals come from Europe, and only the silver jewelry is made in an Indonesian village.

Lin & Cie is the sole creator and manufacturer, which means that you will find all original products giving its particular charm. You can make personalized T-shirts (in white up to 18 years old, and in colors up to 8 years), toiletry bags, sacks, and other accessories. The delivery time is about 10 days. They do not sell directly through their website, but you can look, choose, and then call to place an order. You can pick up your purchase on your next visit or if you can’t come to the store, they will ship it abroad! The only potential set-back is the website is solely in French.

While I was taking pictures, a young woman came in to order a linen photo album to give as a wedding present with the names of the couple and the date matching the announcement. What a charming idea! There was also a man there who bought a travel changing mat in a small, pretty bag (one of their ‘best of’) with an adorable stuffed bunny to give as a baby present…

For Americans who are having a baby shower (something that doesn’t exist in France!) there are very attractive, silver Indonesian bells with sliding leather straps. The Indonesian women wear them around their necks when they are pregnant because it’s the first sound that the fetus hears and then the bell is given to the baby to calm him down. There is another original gift idea!

I invite you to look at the pictures and the website, which will present to you even better than I can describe, all treasures that this pretty boutique offers to its customers. Last point, the prices are very reasonable. Its truly a discovery that warms the heart.

And the «cerise sur le gateau» (“icing on the cakeâ€), located right nearby are rue Bréa and rue Vavin, streets that are packed with all kinds of cute boutiques and good restaurants. For example, there is Sensing from Chef Guy Martin, Les 2 Cigales, and Amorino (4 rue Vavin, just beside Luco) for tasting gelato, the delicious Italian ice cream.
