Tokyo Eat

tokyo eat.JPGOne of my favorite restaurants in Paris, Tokyo Eat, is located inside the versatile Palais de Tokyo, the temple of the new and young artists from France and abroad.

This informal place is open almost all day from noon until mid-night and offers a seasonal menu with well-priced options.  Starting with the natural fruit juices (carrot and ginger, green apple and celery, etc), the menu offers a good balance between meat, fish, and veggie dishes, accompanied by inventively cooked vegetables. Try, for instance, the bream with fresh spinach and a beet emulsion or the delicious beef saté with thick French fries and arugula salad.

What I like more about this place is that depending on the hour of the day it can be a perfect place to go with your family for a brunch or a lunch, since there is plenty of space for strollers and for kids to play around. At the same time, it is a nice place to go for an afternoon drink with a friend, as well as an excellent choice to go for a dinner with your loved one.  Sometimes a “discreet” DJ plays music from the upper part of the restaurant but at a well-balanced volume without disturbing your conversation.

The decoration is also very interesting: the lamps, which look like UFO’s from a 60’s movie, the chairs and the tables, which are made by artists, makes this place comfortable, authentic, and miles away from the next trendy place you don’t want to be.

Before or after eating your lunch or dinner you can enjoy the exhibitions of the Palais de Tokyo, which will which will certainly interest you, or even stop by the Palais bookstore.
