Le Dirigeable

In a “bistro-chic†ambiance, the chef offers a traditional cuisine with a modern twist. The seasonal recipes change daily according to the markets or at the least, the side dish is modified. Did you spot the boudin basque pommes en l’air? Well, tonight, you will enjoy it with some celery…

Some dishes are always on the menu: the (famous) terrine aux foies de volaille served with une compotée d’oignons, salmon tartar, oysters, or a hangar steak with shallots (like the last time we dined there) or vigneronne, according to the chef’s mood. The cod brandade is also equally a great restaurant classic.

One or 2 fish dishes are offered, as well as, some basic plates of lamb and chicken. Here, at Le Dirigeable, there is no doubt that you will be able to find something to enjoy based on your tastes and desires. It’s the season and the quality of available products that inspire the chef. I have 2 photos of the esteemed/prized menu taken at intervals of a few days to show the diversity. Also, something small worth noting, that delights me each time: the “pre-starters†– delicious and original (I cracked for the leek and fennel soup that I recreated, without great success)!

With dessert priced at 8€, let yourself be tempted by un moelleux au chocolat, rice pudding, champagne sorbet, a pineapple carpaccio or ask at the beginning of the meal for the clafoutis (fruit baked in batter) of the day (10€) which, by the same principle, the fruits vary.

A simple and warm welcome is guaranteed by a young staff, and the proprietor lived in the U.S. for many years, so he will know how to explain the menu in English, if you so wish.

A glass of cider for a cocktail or a glass of champagne, and a fine selection of wines, all biodynamic, without suffering by the producers are selected with complete care, perfectly complementing the dishes. This restaurant certainly has some of the best quality-priced meals in the surrounding neighborhood that is situated not far from Porte de Versailles.
