Tucked away in a little playground in the Champs de Mars, under the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, is this charming little snack shop that serves pizza, salad, hot dogs (sometimes), drinks and coffee. With its red-checkered tablecloths and outdoor seating only, it is best during in the warmer months of spring, summer or fall, or possibly a not so cold winter day — provided you have a warm coat (though there are space heaters that may help with the cold).
You might see a pooch or two sitting under one of the tables, and little children will likely be scampering next door on the carousel, swings, or a little play area, which is ideal if they are yours and you want to lounge for a little warm café or a glass of wine.
I like this place mostly because of its setting. You can be just under the gaze of the Eiffel Tower, but this is not a tourist hotspot, rather, a little secret hideaway known by a few Parisians who live in the upscale Seventh arrondissement. Even if you don’t want to eat, you can stop for a drink, or just sit on a bench next door as your children play (best suited for children 2-8).

Haydn vient de nous quitter. C’est un homme charmant et plein d’humur. Il nous a parle de vous,
de votre gentillesse et de votre amabilite envers lui. C’est un ami de famille que j’aide avec ses traductions.
