La Fromagerie Cler

In the middle of Julia Child’s favorite shopping street in Paris, Rue Cler, lies La Fromagerie Cler, a must for cheese fans, with a stand on the exterior of the store showcasing many of its cheeses for sale. As most cheese shops go, Fromagerie Cler is large, and sells an array of top artisinal cheeses from all regions of France, including a large selection of chèvre, comté, roquefort, gruyère, cantal, beaufort, camembert and brie. You can also buy fresh eggs, terrific butters, and crème fraîche that is scooped out of a large bowl. Good value wines can also be purchased if you don’t have time to buy from a local caviste.

Fromagerie Cler is listed as one of the top cheese shops in France, so should not be missed, especially as you walk around and browse the other many specialty shops on Rue Cler, which is one of the best market streets in Paris.

Open Tuesday through Sunday (mornings only on Sundays).

Address: 31 Rue Cler, 75007 Paris
